BMI Teams with Starbucks for NEMO Songwriting Competition

BMI is partnering with Starbucks New England to sponsor the NEMO Music Festival Songwriting Competition, which offers musicians in the New England area the opportunity to showcase their talent in any musical genre. Regional competitions will be held in August and September in select Starbucks stores throughout the New England area, with five to seven artists performing three songs each.

One winner will be selected from each regional competition. Prizes include a $50 Starbucks Gift card, Space on Radio Free Goombah Music Player, and a $200 American Express Gift Card from Ourstage. Regional winners will then compete October 11 at the Hard Rock Café in Boston for a chance to win a trip to the Kauai Music Festival, a $500 Gift Card from Starbucks, two days of studio time with an engineer at Q Division, a promotion alert on Radio Free Goombah Free Music Fridays, and a publicity/radio campaign valued at $1,000 with a leading music industry promoter.

For details on where you can catch the regional performances and cast your vote for the semi-finalist, visit starbucksmusicmakerscompetition.com.
