BMI, Writer’s Block Party Host Industry Workshop
BMI and the Writer’s Block Party presented a songwriter, artist and producer workshop on March 14, hosted by Shakir Stewart, Senior Vice President of A&R at Island Def Jam; Ray Romulus, A&R Manager, Def Jam; Wardell Malloy, BMI Director, Writer/Publisher Relations; and LaRonda Sutton, Senior VP of Music, Development & Production, Foxx King Music.
The Writer’s Block Party is a monthly traveling seminar on the music business, presented by music industry executives LaRonda Sutton and Dolly Turner and sponsored by BMI. The educational forum and marketplace presents top-level executives who discuss topics including music publishing, licensing, production and creative issues. The forum is geared towards the emerging songwriter, producer and artist, and features a music meeting, allowing creative executives to hear new music from participants as well as providing a forum for music content buyers and distributors to share their new projects and needs.
