Grammy Winner Christopher Cerf Shows Off His Trophy

BMI children's composer Christopher Cerf dropped by the New York office recently to meet with executives and to show off his newest Grammy statuette. His Best Spoken Word Album for Children trophy, which he picked up at the 2006 ceremony for his Marla Thomas & Friends: Thanks and Giving All Year Long, brings his total career Grammy haul to three.

A prolific songwriter, lyricist, author, and record and television producer, the kid-friendly musicmaker played a pivotal role in the creation and production of the Sesame Street television program, most notably as a regular contributor of lyrics and music, which has earned him two Emmy Awards. He currently serves as Creative Director and Music Director of Between the Lions, the award-winning children's literacy series on PBS.
