BMI Announces USC Film Scoring Scholars

University of Southern California students Ben Stanton and Brandon K. Verrett have been named the winners of the 14th annual BMI/USC Film Scoring Scholarship for their exceptional contributions. Film music journalist and longtime BMI friend, Jon Burlingame, served as guest teacher for the program.

BMI's Doreen Ringer Ross (center) congratulates scholarship recipients Brandon K. Verrett and Ben Stanton.

Created in 1992, the BMI Film Scoring Scholarship awards two students in USC's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at the Thornton School of Music. The financial scholarship is based on composition and the level of performance the students demonstrate throughout the school year. The recipients are chosen by the faculty in Thornton's scoring program.
