Singer Rihanna Helps BMI NY ‘Turn the Music Up’

Caribbean beauty Rihanna was on hand to see the BMI New York staff off on its annual team building day, which took place this year aboard the yacht "Atlantica." The statuesque singer/songwriter, whose dancehall anthem "Pon De Replay" has been in the Top 10 for more than four months, helped get the party started on the fun-filled cruise sailing around Manhattan.

A native of Barbados, Rihanna has just released her debut album Music of the Sun on Def Jam. The CD features a mixture of Caribbean beats, reggae, hip-hop and R&B and has helped rocket the 17-year-old to stardom in the US and beyond. The smash hit of the summer, "Replay" was co-written by BMI songwriter M'Jestie and producers Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers.
