BMI Goes ‘Down In the Valley’
BMI was on hand at the recent Los Angeles Film Festival to support composer Peter Salett and his original score to Down In the Valley, chosen as this year's opening night film.

Set in present-day in California's San Fernando Valley, the movie (starring Edward Norton, Evan Rachel Wood, David Morse and Rory Culkin) revolves around a delusional man who believes he's a cowboy and the relationship he starts with a rebellious young woman.
Sallet's music, including the songs "Heart of Mine" and "The Way Things Used to Be," can also be heard on the soundtrack to the romantic comedy Keeping the Faith (2000), which also stars Edward Norton.
BMI is proud to be a continuing supporter of the Los Angeles Film Festival, which showcases the best of American and International independent cinema. With an attendance of over 60,000, the festival is held annually for 10 days each June and screens over 200 narrative features, documentaries, shorts and music videos. Now in its 11th year, the LA Film Fest has grown into a world-class event, uniting new filmmakers with critics, scholars, film masters and the movie-loving public.
