‘Cinderella Man’ Score Packs Musical Punch

BMI Los Angeles and the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) hosted a screening of the Universal Pictures film Cinderella Man in honor of BMI Award-winning composer Thomas Newman's original score. Following the screening, Newman discussed the movie's music and participated in a Q&A session moderated by Ray Colcord of the SCL.

Shown at the screening are the SCL's Ray Colcord, BMI composer Thomas Newman, BMI's Doreen Ringer Ross, the SCL's Laura Dunn and Music Editor Bill Bernstien

Cinderella Man chronicles common man hero and boxer James J. Braddock, a.k.a. the Cinderella Man, who was to become one of the most surprising and inspirational sports legends in history. Created by the Academy Award-winning team of producer Brian Grazer, director Ron Howard and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, the critically-acclaimed film stars actors Russell Crowe as Braddock and Renée Zellweger as his wife.
