Loretta Lynn Top Winner at Americana Honors & Awards Show
Taking home the Album of the Year and Artist of the Year trophies, longtime BMI affiliate Loretta Lynn was the night's big winner at the 2004 Americana Honors & Awards Show in Nashville. Among other BMI-affiliated winners were newcomer Mindy Smith, named New/Emerging Artist of the Year, and Will Kimbrough, recognized as Best Instrumentalist. Also during the ceremony, Lifetime Achievement Awards were issued to Chris Hillman (performer) and Cowboy Jack Clement (songwriter). The Carter Family was the recipient of the President's Award.

The Americana Honors & Awards Show was held at the 5th annual Americana Music Association Conference in Nashville, where registrants enjoyed Americana artist showcases, panels and other events.
