BMI to Honor Gospel ‘Trailblazers’

BMI is proud to announce the 5th Annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards Luncheon, which will be held in conjunction with the 19th Annual Stellar Awards. The invitation-only event, to take place in Houston, Texas on January 9, 2004, salutes gospel music and honors outstanding gospel music recording artists, award-winning BMI writers and publishers, and gospel music industry executives.

Honorees at the Delta Airlines-sponsored event will be BMI songwriter/artist Cissy Houston and The Clark Sisters (including BMI affiliate Dorinda Clark-Cole). The gala luncheon will also feature special musical performances by Virtue, Kim Burrell, Albertina Walker, Angie Stone, Yolanda Adams and Mary Mary, nominated for five 2004 Stellar Awards including Artist of the Year.

The 19th Annual Stellar Awards will take place the day after the Trailblazers' luncheon on January 10, 2004 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston for the first time. Hosts for the 2004 celebration will be BMI Award-winning songwriter/artists Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin and Kirk Franklin.
