Willie Nelson Honored at 2003 Conclave Conference

BMI legendary songwriter/artist Willie Nelson was honored at the 2003 Conclave Legends Luncheon held recently in Minneapolis. The Luncheon, part of the three-day Conclave Learning Conference, was sponsored by BMI and featured a candid interview with the Country Music Hall of Famer by Radio & Records Editor Lon Helton. Nelson, who is celebrating 50 years in the entertainment industry, treated the audience to an outstanding performance of some of his most memorable songs while discussing the craft of songwriting.

The Conclave is the only radio multi-formatic organization recognized as a nonprofit group by the US government. The Conclave's mission is to improve the quality of radio broadcasting and related fields through education and formal and informal sharing of ideas, for the express purpose of better serving the public interest.

Seen here at the 2003 Conclave Legends Luncheon are BMI's Del Bryant, Willie Nelson, Conclave Executive Director Tom Kay and Lou Helton, Senior Editor of Country, Radio & Records and Country Editor/Westwood One Country Countdown host.
