Thomas Newman Attends Annual Pre-Academy Awards Reception

The Society of Composers and Lyricists held their annual pre-Academy Awards reception for the composers and songwriters nominated for the golden statuettes. Guests included BMI composer and Best Original Score Oscar nominee Thomas Newman (The Road To Perdition) as well as fellow nominees Philip Glass (The Hours) , Elliot Goldenthal (Frida) and Elmer Bernstein, (Far From Heaven), plus (Frida) director Julie Taymor. Shown at the March 22 event in Los Angeles are BMI's Barbara Cane, Ann Marie & Thomas Newman, and BMI's Doreen Ringer Ross, Ray Yee and Fred Cannon.
