The story of Regional Mexican group Los Tucanes De Tijuana began in Sinaloa, Mexico 12 years ago, when songwriter and lead singer Mario Quintero, Joel Higuera, Mario Moreno and David Servin joined forces and relocated to Tijuana.

Since then, the band has enjoyed huge success in the Latin market with six different releases simultaneously on the Billboard Latin 50 chart. In 1998, songwriter Quintero was named Composer of the Year at the Furia Musical Awards in Mexico City, and he received four BMI Latin Awards at this year's ceremony in Coral Gables, Florida.

According to Quintero, the key to the success of Los Tucanes de Tijuana is their metaphoric style and use of corridos (short stories from the north of Mexico that rhyme and describe the controversial and sometimes dangerous way people confront day-to-day situations.) This unique style is what sets them apart in the genre of Mexican music.

They have performed in Spain and Chile and have received an overwhelmingly positive response. Their latest release on EMI Latin, Los Más Buscados (Most Wanted), secured the number one spot on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks, Regional Mexican and Latin sales charts.

With these significant accomplishments, Los Tucanes De Tijuana is sure to further enhance the Regional Mexican genre.
