SPONY Songwriter Pitch-A-Thon: New York

SPONY songwriter pitch-a-thon will be held at the BMI New York offices at 320 W. 57th Street, 6:00–8:00pm - open to all. CD check in starts at 5:15 pm and the doors close at 6:30pm (unless capacity is reached before then). $20 Admission Fee (Cash Only). Fee entitles you to enter one song (Limit one song per person).

The guest panel of judges include:

The Music Director from "All My Children" who is looking for edgy pop and alternative. This serial is ramping up their music to emulate the scoring on shows like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Gossip Girl."

The Director of Film, TV, Ads, and Video Games for Beggar's Group and Matador Records who is looking for all styles, but finds it easier to place songs where "there is a clear lyric that repeats; soaring instrumentation; quirky upbeat melodies; and/or mid-to-uptempo electro pop."

The President of BlueStone Partners who is looking for songs to place in brand advertising and for other licensing opportunities. He finds it easier to place songs which are "unique in some aspect; differentiated, yet memorable."

Please remember that placements for film, TV and advertising require "radio ready" production.
