New York

The BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop

Musical theatre is thriving in New York and other cities and towns across the country. And while to many of its admirers, the genre is essentially a matter of song and dance, with the emphasis on song, a closer look reveals that musical theatre is much more: It often defines who and what we are and what we’re thinking, tapping real life or our fantasies and dreams. In many ways, it’s a national treasure, and BMI’s support for musical theatre is but one more example of its continuing commitment to the writers and publishers of all genres of music. Learn More.
