North By Northwest

Berbati's Pan, 231 SW Ankeny

9 p.m. – Mountain Con
Seattle's Mountain Consolidated is a musical hybrid, a six-member band that bridges the gap between the groove of contemporary urban music and the country-folk tradition, along with an intelligent sense of irony and humor. Mountain Con's debut album The MC Stands for Revolution was released in August on the Acid Blues label.

10 p.m. – Fetish
This Oakland, CA based rock group have grown tremendously since their initial punk formation. Signed to Green Day's Adeline Records, their aggressive and melodic songs show a young group with huge potential. Think a little bit punk, a little bit alt/rock mixing with the blues and rawk'n'roll and you've got Fetish. Contact: Matt Olyphant, 510-528-7478

11 p.m. – Fernando
With a voice that rivals Hank Williams for its sheer creaking glory and songs that cut clean to the bone, Fernando Viciconte has truly blossomed as an artist. Selling out clubs in Portland, Fernando can swoop from the low-down agonized depths of despair to shouts of sheer unbridled joy in a heartbeat: brimstone to treacle in a single gulp.

Midnight – Maktub
Maktub's musical vision is bringing a fresh, invigorating blend of musical traditions together to spearhead the new wave of live soul-groove emanating from the Northwest. They have just released their first album for the Jasiri Media Group titled Subtle Ways. Channeling the groove of Erykah Badu and Isaac Hayes, the trip-hop stylings of Massive Attack and Pigeonhed and the soul of Sade and Marvin Gaye, Maktub brings new soul for the new millenium.
