Postfontaine stems from the ashes of The Lapdancers – one of the most underrated bands in California history. The Lapdancers formed in the summer of 1994 when singer/songwriter Emile Millar teamed up with brothers Mick and Thom Flowers. With Mick on drums and Thom on guitar, the group developed into a solid rock band with hook-laden songs and an emotion-drive live show. Engineered and produced primarily by Thom (who is also a contributing songwriter), the band recorded timeless music barely heard by anyone except for friends and strippers. Along with bassist Marko 72 (now of Sugarcult), The Lapdancers played few gigs but remained together for five years recording nearly 20 original songs and generating a fan base of musicians and artists from Santa Barbara to L.A.

After a stint in New York playing the now famous CMJ hurricane of ’99, The Lapdancers decided to call it quits. While remaining very close friends, they all played in many different projects for the next few years. In 2001 Emile, Mick and Thom picked up where they left off and formed Postfontaine, with Tim Cullen from Summercamp joining as bassist. In one short year the band have become regulars at the Fold and the Derby in Silverlake and Los Feliz, with Emile performing select solo dates around town in between. Thom is also currently engineering the Ataris debut for Epic records. Recently signed to GoBig! Management, the band is shopping material to labels and performing around Los Angeles.
