2006 NEA National Heritage Awards: Washington, D.C.
Each year, the National Endowment for the Arts awards an NEA National Heritage Fellowship to individuals who have made major contributions to the excellence, vitality, and public appreciation of the folk and traditional arts. Some of this year's honorees include Mavis Staples and the Treme Brass Band.
