2001 New York Heroes Awards: New York
Presented by the New York chapter of the Recording Academy and sponsored by BMI, this year's event will benfit the families of the World Trade Center rescuers. BMI's Frances Preston is among the presenters. Honorees include BMI singer/songwriter Carole King, as well as rock superstars KISS, music industry veteran Linda Moran, and music, media and fashion entrepreneur Russell Simmons. 6:30pm at the Roosevelt Hotel (45th Street and Madison Avenue).
