BMI “Your Band As A Business” Forum 2001: Austin

Come meet with and get tips from industry pros on how to run your band as a business. Topics will include touring, production, publishing, performing rights, manufacturing, packaging, promotion and legal issues at Antone's (213 West Fifth Street). FREE admission!! 6pm to midnight. 6pm: Networking/happy hour with free refreshments with industry representatives. 7pm: Forum discussion, "Your Band As A Business," with: BMI's Mark Mason, Director of Writer/Publisher Relations; Kevin Conner, radio host of "KGSR In The Morning" and Chairman of the Austin Music Commission; Patrice Pike, of Patrice Pike and Black Box Rebellion, and longtime lead singer of Sister Seven; Casey Monahan, Director of the Texas Music Office; Andy Langer, writer for "The Austin Chronicle" and "Guitar World," host of "The Next Big Thing" on KROX-FM (101X), and on-air TV music reporter for News 8 Austin; Randolph Houston, entertainment lawyer; Richard Luckett, manager of La Tribu and entertainment merchandising expert with clients including Bob Dylan, Jimmie Vaughan and Fuel 2000 Records/Universal; Freddy Fletcher, owner of Arlyn Studios, whose recording credits include Lucinda Williams, Robert Earl Keen and Willie Nelson. 9pm: Showcase featuring Cruiserweight, Endochine, Los Lonely Boys.
