Urban Music Forum 2001: Memphis, TN

The Memphis Chapter of the Recording Academy in conjunction with BMI will present its fifth annual salute to the r&b/rap/hip-hop genre at the New Daisy Theatre on Beale Street. This program, which has become the definitive urban music event in Memphis, provides visibility and recognition for unsigned r&b and hip-hop acts and professional development and networking opportunities for attendees. The evening begins with panels featuring top urban music professionals followed by a showcase of emerging urban acts backed by an all-star house band. URBAN MUSIC PANELS at 6 - 8 PM: Leading music professionals discuss Urban music and provide info to help emerging artists succeed. URBAN SHOWCASE at 8 PM: We are currently seeking submissions for the showcase.To be considered, please contact the Chapter office at 901.525.1340 or memphis@grammy.com.
