Launching Your Film Music Career Seminar: Los Angeles

Presented by the Society of Composers and Lyricists and the American Composers Forum - Los Angeles at 7:15 p.m. at Professional Musicians (Local 47) Hall (817 Vine Street, Hollywood). This seminar is for composers looking to learn more about a composing career in film, TV, and multi-media. A panel of experts will guide you through the many creative, technical and business issues that are essential to getting up and running in today's work environment. You'll hear frank advice from professionals who have worked for years in every aspect of the music business, from the concert stage to the scoring stage. In addition, each attendee will be given a wealth of resources, including sample contracts, software demo CDs, how-to pamphlets for making a professional demo and setting up a project studio, lists of the many organizations, publications and websites that exist to help you in your music career, and much more. Panelists include composers Lee Holdridge, Penka Kouneva, Craig Stuart Garfinkle, and attorney Jeffrey Graubart. Moderated by composer Alex Shapiro.
