BMI distributes license fees collected from professional sports teams and leagues (e.g., NFL, NHL) for the public performance of your musical works in stadiums during live games. BMI uses performance information provided by the professional sports teams/leagues to create a database of BMI-licensed works that are eligible to receive a royalty payment. Since the number of BMI-licensed works and the amount of the license fees collected by BMI change from one year to another, the royalty rate for works performed during these games likewise varies with each distribution.
