During the first week of May, it's highly possible that not a single hit song will be written in Nashville; that week, the hits will instead pour out of a more tropical songwriting oasis as the Key West Songwriters' Festival invades Key West, Fla., May 3-7, 2006. The festival continues its successful run at the world-famous Hog's Breath Saloon, the rowdy home base for festivities.

Jeffrey Steele

Scotty Emerick

Tim Nichols

Each spring, top Music City tunesmiths, emerging talent and country fans from all over the globe gather to enjoy the event's intimate performance settings and soak up the sun. Shows offer listeners a unique glimpse into the stories behind hit songs and the minds that create them, thrusting the often unsung heroes of the hits into a well-deserved spotlight. Numerous neighborhood venues, all within walking distance of the Hog’s Breath, host performances daily.
