Glass Intrepid has shared the stage with many national acts such as Papa Roach, 3 Doors Down, Sum 41, Breaking Benjamin, The Used, Snow Patrol, My American heart, The Vanished, The Receiving End of Sirens, The Exies, Drowning Pool, Unwritten Law, Alter Bridge, Mudvayne, Trust Company, Lit and Seether. Glass Intrepid was awarded by Unsigned as the Best Unsigned Rock Band in Texas allowing them to appear at KTBZ’s Buzz Fest XV in Houston, Texas. Glass Intrepid also won a spot on the 2005 Vans Warped tour leading them to recently win first place in the 9th Annual Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition out of 10,000 bands nationally. This led to an opportunity to showcase at the Key Club in Hollywood.

Deadman – This duo serves up a timeless, soulful mixture of gospel hope and redemptive southern rock. The band, headed by Steven and Sherilyn Collins, suggests the voices of Graham Parsons and Emmylou Harris steeped in the musical atmosphere of Daniel Lanois. Their first album, Paramour received glowing reviews and the song “Ghost Story” was featured on NPR’s “All Songs Considered” sharing space with Tom Waits and Bryan Ferry. “Rosa Marie” was featured on NBC’s hit television series “ED.” Their second album Our Eternal Ghosts has just been released. Deborah Anderson – The daughter of Jon Anderson (legendary vocalist of YES), Deborah’s music career was ignited at the age of nine when she sang a duet with her father on one of his many solo projects which they later performed live at London’s ‘Royal Albert Hall’ in front of a sold out audience. She has since performed as backing vocalist on two YES albums as well as on many of her father’s solo albums. An accomplished artist on her own, she has dance hits on the European charts and is currently collaborating with writer/producer Alex Stiff.

Michele Lee – Michelle discovered a love for music and a passion for singing at a young age, making home demos and singing in her school chorale in New Jersey. The quartet’s affiliation with Roadrunner Records — the past breeding ground for satanic metal gurus such as Deicide and Mercyful Fate — adds to the perception that Theory of a Deadman probably belongs on the soundtrack to Six Feet Under rather than Spider-Man.

But despite the macabre name, Theory of a Deadman is about life rather than death, and its brand of thundering melodic rock is more akin to Creed and Nickelback than any group operating south of heaven. And yes, the Vancouver, Canada-bred band does have a cut (“Invisible Man”) on the Spider-Man soundtrack.

The band’s name actually comes from the title of one of its songs, which was subsequently changed to “The Last Song.” And Theory of a Deadman singer/guitarist Tyler Connolly has explained that the number — though about a guy who takes his own life — is an anti-suicide song through and through.

“The Last Song,” which is marked by some arty orchestral shadings, and the catchy “Invisible Man” can both be found on the group’s recently released, self-titled debut album.

The album’s existence on a name record label owes much to fellow Canadians Nickelback. In 1999, Connelly met Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger at a barbecue. After hearing Theory of a Deadman’s demo, the impressed Kroeger hooked up the band with Roadrunner. Kroeger even ended up co-producing the album and taking the band out on tour with Nickelback as a support act.

Connelly says he wants Theory of a Deadman to appeal to 16-year-old girls as well as 35-year-old guys. It’s something that could very well come to fruition if hard rock fans realize that this is a band that strives to exist above ground and not below it.
