BMI Latin Spotlight: paopao
paopao is a multifaceted Puerto Rican singer/songwriter whose career and profile are on the rise. After years of composing songs for other artists, she signed with the independent Latin music label RichMusic and released her debut single “Pal Sex” in 2021, garnering over 245,000 YouTube views. This led to the release of her self-produced, all-female EP, Hembrismo in March of 2023, followed by Diamantes y Espinas the following August. After Bad Bunny mentioned it twice on Instagram, that EP went onto amass nearly 4.6 million plays and more than 946,000 views on YouTube. Her most recent release La Nena de un Gang$ter included the single “En Guerra,” “Fre3styl3,” “En Mis Senti,” and “Estrella$ en el Techo.” She was also nominated for three Premios Lo Nuestro in February and will be heading on tour in Europe and Mexico this summer 2024. She also received a nomination for “New Female Generation” at Premios Juventud 2023 and most recently three nominations to Premios Lo Nuestro 2024. These nominations underscore paopao’s growing impact and talent in the music industry. Tras componer canciones para otros artistas muchos años, se unió a la disquera independiente de música latina RichMusic y sacó su canción de estreno “Pal Sex” en 2021, que se escuchó más de 245,000 veces en YouTube. Esto la llevó a sacar un EP totalmente femenil que ella mismo produjo, Hembrismo, en marzo de 2023, seguido por Diamantes y espinas en agosto del año siguiente. Después de dos menciones en Instagram por Bad Bunny, ese EP logró casi 4.6 millones de reproducciones y más de 946,000 visitas en YouTube.
